Strengthening Our Power
Since our founding in 2011, Greater Cleveland Congregations has demonstrated a deep understanding of citizen engagement by building a base of leaders from our member institutions that represent 120,000 Cuyahoga County residents.
Through our base, we have achieved significant local and national reform by engaging citizens around health equity, education, criminal justice, gun violence and housing.
Prior to our founding, we held 2,500 conversations and 250 house meetings to listen to our base, creating an organization that could achieve major victories. After a successful eight years of organizing, we realize the importance of stepping back and strengthening our base once again. We are recruiting new institutions and training new leaders.
We are calling this process "Strengthening Our Power." The campaign is based on similar successful campaigns by a number of our sister organizations across the country. The campaign will leave us poised to take on even bigger challenges in the future in order to ensure a greater Cleveland and Cuyahoga County for all.
